Urban Landscape

People's detachment from each other is a theme I continue to return to. In this painting, a contemplative mother pushes her baby in a stroller. An older woman struggles while walking with multiple packages. A father is distracted while walking with his son. None of these figures interact with each other, creating a feeling of disconnect. Furthermore, the viewer's role is one of an onlooker, adding to the detachment.
