The Lone Walker

This painting is part of a series of street scenes documenting life during COVID. I wanted to capture the unique visual effects created by the sun during the end of winter in the late afternoon. Using a muted palette, I caught the intense light that creates long shadows and the muted highlighted colors of the buildings. I also wanted to capture the energetic, visual details in the shadows by painting them in subtle, warm and cool neutral tones.
