Right before COVID lockdown I began a series of "bar scene" paintings where I experimented with monotone color palettes. In this painting a man is detached while sitting next to his partner. This was a forewarning of the psychological state the general public would soon experience. Aside from being mostly hues of blue, I added limited amounts of ochres and orange only to the people to visually separate them from their surroundings.
