The New America - SOLD

I wanted to convey the inevitability of social change. In particular, how this change occurs in a small town, far away from the safe, accepting spaces of large urban cities. It's a simple flag to show support for the LGBTQ community. Its setting and the mindsets within those small-town communities make it controversial. From a painting aspect, I've used all of the flag's colors throughout the painting, so the flag acts as a visual tie-in. I've also used the strong shadow cast by the large tree to draw the viewer to the flag.
