Winter Shadows - SOLD

I created this painting for a competition that depicted the "Historic Phillips' Mill". I decided to paint the mill during mid-day, when the cast shadows are elongated due to the leafless, late winter. I simplified textures by eliminating detail and decided to saturate color for greater contrast. The result was chosen as the winner of the competition.
