The Benefits of Bias 1 - SOLD

This painting is a part of an ongoing series about "racial profiling." I approached this work with the same loose brushwork I use in my plein air paintings, as I wanted to convey a fleeting moment in time. To add to this feeling, I painted the figures as solid shapes with no details to make them ominous and anonymous. I used all of these elements to help the viewer experience the feeling of powerlessness one experiences when being racially profiled.
