Disconnect - SOLD
Oil on canvas, 11" x 14", 2020
When I'm driving through an area that I find visually or thematically interesting, I'll take multiple random snapshots while my phone/camera is in its hands-free holder. I then sift through these photos to choose the best ones. From these, I may use a small section of the scene to represent what originally inspired me. This painting is a result of this technique. I was particularly interested in the dark, faceless figures and their lack of interaction. I think it's an example of how our society is disconnected from each other.
